Job Introduction:

Directs the organization's financial planning. accounting, budgeting, and auditing practices as well as its financial relationship with shareholders and the financial community by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.  Ensures the company's accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Role Responsibility:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting,  and long range forecasting for the organization.
  • Along with the other vice-presidents, serves as a member of the Company’s senior staff.
  • Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.  Monitor, update, and enforce company policies related to transactional and financial matters of the company.
  • Oversees and directs the company’s financial shared services functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger accounting and reporting. Directs managers in providing and directing procedures and applications systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Maintains the company’s general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Directs the cash manager  in activities such as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.  Manages the cash flow forecasting process.
  • Appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget programs.
  • Coordinates tax reporting programs with the corporate tax department.  Manages the company’s sales tax and property tax compliance functions.
  • Analyzes and consolidates all cost accounting financial information  together with other statistical and routine reports.
  • Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the company’s  annual statuatory financial statements
  • Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determines their financial impact.
  • Manages and/or completes miscellaneous financial and administrative projects.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field with 10 plus years of practical work experience.  Individuals should be able to demonstrate a successful track record in a senior level management or director level position with budgeting and supervisory  experience. Additional desired credentials  include a CPA or CMA certification.        

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, trade journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to effectively present information to subordinates, upper management and public groups as necessary in written or oral formats. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.   The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment.  There is low to moderate noise in this work environment.
