Job Introduction:

Supervise a team of locators and dispatchers to accomplish the required activities on schedule. Responsibilities include the administration of all incoming one-call tickets for multiple customers. Coordinates all force/load issues for the entire Midwest Region area.  Duties also include screening of all one-call tickets to determine if a conflict with customer facilities exists.  Coordinates all dispatching of conflict tickets to appropriate locators.  Manages the timely processing of data returned from field, including photos.

 

Role Responsibility:

  • Provides technical expertise associated with the “DIG Management Systems”
  • Maintains multiple databases and associated sub-systems
  • Works directly with customer to implement new ideas and communications strategies
  • Serves as a liaison to customer and end users (field personnel)
  • Provides assistance and support functions to dispatchers
  • Generates daily system and monthly summary reports
  • Creates and maintains Control Center policies and procedures
  • Attends customer/vendor meetings for improved process/system operations
  • Develops and implements training procedures for new hires
  • Provides support to the Damage Investigation Process
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

This position requires high school diploma or GED equivalency and a minimum of five year’s experience related to managing/working one-call tickets.  Proficient knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware & software to include Microsoft® Word, Excel & Access will also be required.  An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  If required by job responsibilities, incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports.  Should possess good customer service abilities along with refined grammar skills.  This position will require extensive interaction with customers, field employees, and outside clients.  All interactions must be handled in a professional manner.  This position will also require the ability to analyze and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, scientific and technical journals, financial reports and other documents.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  On occasion the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The incumbent is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time.  The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.  And occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in an office environment with some outside field functions. There is low to moderate noise in this work environment.
