Job Introduction:


G4S Secure Integration creates and integrates comprehensive and complex security solutions for strategic customers.  The candidate will be part of a capture team, securing profitable new work, allowing G4S to meet their strategic goals.  Interacting with engineers and technicians to carefully describe the challenges of integrating multiple cutting-edge technologies, ensuring system functionality and operational efficiency.  The candidate will work with the engineering teams to develop first class technical proposals.


The Technical Writer will perform tasks in developing, writing and editing technical proposals, elaborating on functionality, compatibility and operational benefits.


An ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, strong verbal and written communication skills, will be a true team player with a commitment to success, and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.  The candidate shall be comfortable handling new challenges involving emerging technologies.

Role Responsibility:

  • Create and revise software user manuals
  • Create and revise procedures used by system technicians and administrators
  • Obtain and interpret data and specifications and liaise with technical staff/project managers
  • Assist with identification/analysis of documentation requirements
  • Gather configuration from Windows 7 workstations and Windows and Citrix servers
  • Review the hardware configuration of peripheral hardware devices, such as printers, serial device servers, and video encoders
  • Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server and proficient in running database queries
  • Create and maintain a library of content to use in future proposals
  • Assist in graphic development to support proposal efforts
  • Work with proposal team to analyze project requirements and deliverables
  • Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and translate technical information to content that is easier to understand
  • Edit writing by various authors to provide a unified response
  • Review requests for proposals documents; assess information required and coordinate with team according to internal procedures;
  • Develop effective technical proposal documents that are consistent within existing standards, using library content and/or developing original proposal content as needed
  • Prepare proposal-related presentations, as necessary

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Expert level Microsoft Word
  • Intermediate level Adobe Acrobat Standard
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel
  • Basic knowledge of Visio a PLUS
  • Experience or familiarity with the security industry (video cameras, video encoders, alarm systems) a PLUS




Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT or technical-related field, or a minimum of five years in an applicable field.  Three to five years’ experience as a technical writer, with emphasis on technical systems and proposal development. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidate must be able to pass drug screening and possess a valid driver’s license. 



Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and generating proposals.  Exceptional written and oral communication skills.  Should possess good customer service abilities along with refined grammar skills.  The position will require a lot of interaction with other departments.
